Nigeria: 1,585 Nigerians Arrested in Norway Over Drug Trafficking

 Not less than 1,585 Nigerians were apprehended in Norway between 2000 and 2012 over drug trafficking, and of the number 432 were arrested in 2012 alone, out of which 95 were deported, a visiting team of Norwegian police and customs officials said.

Forbes 2012 list of most richest football clubs has been updated leaving Manchester united as the most richest football club for eight consecutive years. According to Forbes.com, the premier league champions has a global fan base of 330million which makes them the most valuable team in any sport. The Red Devils has an estimated worth of £1.4bn, followed closely by Real Madrid with £1.17bn, Barcelona who lost out of the Champions league to Chelsea yesterday was not left out of the first three richest football clubs, coming out with a worth of £816m. Manchester City is the 13th on the list with the sum of £275m.

New World Record:World's Shortest Man

A 72-year-old man from a remote valley in southwestern Nepal has been confirmed as the world's shortest man by Guinness World Records officials.

Chandra Bahadur Dangi stands at just 54.6cm (21.5 inches) tall - dimensions carefully measured by officials.
His height is 5.3cm shorter than Filipino Junrey Balawing, the previous holder of the "world's shortest man" title.
He is also more than 2cm shorter than India's Gul Mohammed - meaning that Dangi is the shortest human adult ever documented.
Mr Mohammed, the previous holder of that title, measured 57cm. He died in 1997 aged 40.

Well, a team of Russian scientists discovered a burrow that contained fruit and seeds left in the Siberian permafrost by a squirrel that buried them about 30,000 years ago. Remnants of the Silene stenophylla blossom were found perfectly preserved, and in an experiment to extract the seeds, the scientists pioneered a new way to resurrect the plant. For thousands of years, the flower was fully encased in ice, and no water was able to get to it.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab Gets Sentenced

A Nigerian who tried to blow up an international flight near Detroit on behalf of al Qaeda has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
The mandatory punishment Thursday for Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was never in doubt after he pleaded guilty in October and prosecutors agreed not to seek the death penalty. The 25-year-old says the bomb in his underwear was a "blessed weapon" to avenge poorly treated Muslims worldwide.
