Katy Perry vs. Britney Spears: Is There Really a Feud?

Have you heard about the feud between Katy Perry and Britney Spears? Well, Perry has and she's having none of it.
The "Teenage Dream" singer is firing back at reports claiming she was dissing the "Hold It Against Me" hitmaker for excessive product placement in her music videos.
Here's how this supposed spat got started.

Last week, Perry responded to a query from indie pop darling Marina & The Diamonds: "As a fan, do you prefer product placement if it means bigger budget vid?"
Perry responded: "do it w/style & grace...Not so in ur face like some. U hv to get creative w/it. Some artists don't care tho, & u can tell."
Various gossip bloggers interpreted that post as a knock on Britney, whose "Hold It Against Me" video reportedly netted her $500,000 in product-placement fees. And that prompting a series of tart replies from Perry correcting the record.
"Dear tabloid media aka FILTH: pls note I expressed an overall feeling bout product placement, their roles in vids & the art of them being. . .complimenting or sticking out," she tweeted. "Most, if not ALL popsters welcome deals w/products 2 offset costs of big budget vids in these recessional music industry times.
"I've used them in my vids before & am happy 2b able 2 make a better vid because of. Once AGAIN, stop pitting artists against artist for ur sensational satisfaction & stick to what ur best @: lying, gossiping, exaggerating & overall lending a hand 2 the deterioration of a generation."
Now that's some "Fireworks." No response yet from Spears.
