IBADAN WEEK FESTIVAL SET TO HOLD

The annual Ibadan Week Festival is here again and it is set for 15th to 24th of November 2012. In order to celebrate this year's edition in a more elaborate way, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes and the planning committee of the festival has tagged it 'Ibadan Week Festival 2012'.
Already, 2 consulting firms, Kingsize Entertainment and Capitech Consult have been brought in to market the event. Part of the outlined programmes for the event include cultural display, Ibadan conference, stage plays, Awards Nite, Musical Concert, Beauty peagent and other events. On 15th November,the event will kick off with a visit to Olubadan of Ibadanland for annual royal blessing and formal declaration of the programme. Ayo Olopon Competiton will hold on Saturday 16th, followed by a football compettion finals which would be played at Olubadan Stadium on Saturday 17th. Also, quiz competition, debate at primary and secondary schools around Ibadan will be part of activities mapped out for the event. There will be display of cultural activities as well as Ibadan local dishes, Amala with Gbegiri Soup which will be featured at a programme tagged Youth Varieties. The major aim of celebrating Ibadan Week Festival is to remember the great heroes and founder of the land who had fought for what is now been described as Ibadanland. Week is an annual programme which has been uniting sons and daughters of the town since its inception many years back.

During this festival, all Ibadan indigenes both home and abroad come together to celebrate their origin.
