Along with announcing the multiple season deal for Mad Men, it was revealed that Matt Weiner himself has also signed a new long-term deal with Lionsgate, which could mean pushing Mad Men into a seventh season.
Weiner says in a statement: "I want to thank all of our wonderful fans for their support. I also want to thank AMC and Lionsgate for agreeing to support the artistic freedom of myself, the cast and the crew so that we can continue to make the show exactly as we have from the beginning. I'm excited to get started on the next chapter of our story."
Despite all the controversy surrounding salary requirements and cast firings, Mad Men fans can now breathe a sigh of relief. You will be getting more television from your Men for years to come.
