Spotted: Kim Kardashian Celebrates Avril Lavigne's New Album Goodbye Lullaby

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
When you've gone as long between albums as Avril Lavigne has (nearly four years elapsed between the release of Lavigne's 2007 album The Best Damn Thing and her new project Goodbye Lullaby, which hit the streets on Tuesday, March 8th), then it is imperative that you celebrate in style. Lavigne did just that on Tuesday night, as after a day full of interviews (including an extended stop at MTV News), she partied in New York City. Accompanied by Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries, label boss Irv Gotti and boyfriend Brody Jennfer, Lavigne raised a glass to Goodbye Lullaby and blew out the candles on a cake that featured a replica of her album cover embedded in the frosting. Lavigne's new album has been getting excellent reviews and is on a course to open on top of the Billboard album chart next week, so she'll have plenty more to celebrate in the near future.
Lavigne wasn't the only star getting out among the people, as comedian Russell Brand was spotted on the streets of New York and wife Katy Perry continued to make the scene at Paris Fashion Week.
